Rs17.6trn FY26 budget presented amid IMF stipulations

ISLAMABAD: In the federal budget for 2025–26, the government has announced significant tax relief measures for salaried taxpayers, including a reduction in tax rates across all income slabs. The move aims to offer financial relief amid ongoing economic pressures.

Tax rates for salaried individuals earning up to Rs3,200,000 have been reduced, benefiting those in the lower- and middle-income brackets. Additionally, the surcharge rate for salaried individuals is proposed to be lowered from 10% to 9%.

The Finance Bill 2025–26 introduces a revised tax structure for salaried persons, substantially reducing tax liabilities across multiple income levels.
