PKR Slightly Gain

KARACHI: The Pakistani rupee strengthened against the US dollar on Thursday, appreciating by 0.04% in the inter-bank market.

By the end of the trading session, the local currency closed at 282.07, marking a gain of 10 paisas compared to the previous rate.

The interbank market remained closed on Wednesday due to the Yaum-e-Takbeer holiday.

On Tuesday, the rupee had settled at 282.17.

Globally, the US dollar surged on Thursday following a court decision that blocked former President Donald Trump from enforcing his proposed Liberation Day import tariffs. The greenback posted notable gains against major currencies, including the euro, yen, and Swiss franc.
