ISLAMABAD: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has announced that taxpayers seeking de-registration from the sales tax system must now submit their applications online through the computerized system to the Commissioner Inland Revenue (IR) having jurisdiction.
According to Sales Tax General Order No. 04 of 2025 (Operations) issued on Wednesday, the FBR has revised the procedure for sales tax de-registration under Section 21 of the Sales Tax Act, 1990, read with Rule 11 of the Sales Tax Rules, 2006. Requests for de-registration will continue to be processed in accordance with these provisions of the Act and the Rules.
