KARACHI: The Pakistani rupee continued its upward trend against the US dollar, recording a slight appreciation in the inter-bank market on Tuesday. By the day’s close, the rupee stood at 281.61, marking a gain of Re0.01 against the dollar — its 23rd consecutive rise against the greenback. The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) has approved a refund of Rs 24.5 billion, equivalent to Rs 1.7856 per unit, for electricity consumers nationwide — including those of K-Electric — under the monthly Fuel Charges Adjustment (FCA) for July 2025. However, this relief will not apply to lifeline consumers.
The Pakistani rupee posted another week of gains, appreciating by Re0.12, or 0.04 percent, against the US dollar in the inter-bank market.
