KARACHI: The Pakistani rupee recorded a slight decline against the US dollar on Monday, slipping by 0.06% in the interbank market.
At the close of trading, the rupee settled at 283.87, down by Re0.17 against the dollar.
During the previous week, the local currency had also lost ground, falling by Re0.74 or 0.26% to close at 283.70, compared to 282.96 the week before, according to the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP).
Globally, the US dollar edged higher on Monday as cautious investors turned to safe-haven assets amid rising geopolitical tensions. However, the gains remained limited as markets awaited Iran’s response to US airstrikes on its nuclear facilities, which have heightened unrest in the Middle East.
