The federal government on Wednesday announced a substantial reduction in the prices of petroleum products, effective from January 1, 2026. According to a statement issued by the Petroleum Division, the ex-depot price of petrol has been lowered by Rs10.28 per litre, while high-speed diesel (HSD) has been reduced by Rs8.57 per litre for the forthcoming fortnight, offering relief to consumers amid fluctuating global oil prices.
